Why is spunbond used as bag lining and interlining?

2026-10-17
Because it delivers structure without weight. A spunbond lining gives a bag or case its body, does not fray at cut edges when die-cut or sewn, does not absorb water, and bonds reliably to oxford, polyester lining and nonwoven backing through heat-activated adhesive. Carry bags are a recognised spunbond application segment in their own right. The commercial attraction is that you get stiffness and a consistent surface at a fraction of the weight of a woven or board alternative — which is why bag makers use it as a stiffening and lining layer rather than as the outer shell.
