Which GSM should you choose for which bag type?

2026-10-17
A practical working guide from our own bag-lining projects: 80–90 g/m² for light handbags, tote bags and inner lining; 100–110 g/m² for trolley cases and load-bearing panels; 110 g/m² jet black, high opacity where dark finished goods must not show through; 120 g/m² for hard cases, lids and frame layers; and a lamination-grade 100 g/m² where the lining is heat-bonded to polyester. Move up a step whenever the bag must feel boardy; move down whenever weight or cost dominates.
